Spark Wonder. Explore Algae. Love Science.

AlgyLab was founded by Jenny Gil—National Geographic Explorer, marine educator, and science communicator—on a mission to make algae the gateway to understanding our planet’s future. With a Master’s in Science Communication and a deep passion for the ocean, Jenny has spent her career turning complex environmental challenges into accessible, hands-on experiences for learners of all ages.

Through her work with National Geographic and global education programs, Jenny saw a need to reconnect people—especially youth—with the natural world through curiosity, creativity, and science. That vision sparked AlgyLab: a platform that blends cutting-edge sustainability education with the wonder of algae. From mobile science kits and interactive workshops to live events and immersive experiences, AlgyLab inspires participants to explore climate, biodiversity, and innovation through the green lens of algae.

At the heart of it all is Jenny’s belief that science should feel exciting, inclusive, and empowering. With AlgyLab, she’s cultivating a new wave of eco-curious minds ready to shape a cleaner, brighter future.
